No Alternative in Norwich

A hustings event was held in Norwich on April 20th. Only representatives of the Green and Labour parties could be bothered to turn up, and based upon what they had to say, they needn't have. Neither party is willing to commit to a needs budget, with Labour defeatedly offering that they'd 'make the best of a bad situation and live to fight another day'. The Greens weren't much better in their quest to 'prioritise cuts'Are these the alternatives to the ideological condem attacks on our workers, families and young people? Of course not, they are definitive statements of intent to willingly tug their forelocks to the ruling class and be good peasants.
Interestingly, both Norwich Green and Labour parties are affiliates of the highly respected Norfolk Coalition Against the Cuts and, if elected, through facilitating the cuts must surely find themselves with an enormous conflict of interests and in untenable positions within the coalition.

Socialist Party opposes all cuts and threats to jobs as encouraged by the millionaire club puppetmasters in government. No cuts to services or livelihoods are essential. This is a smokescreen for an ideological agenda being asserted by the Conservatives and their Libdem allies in order to make the taxpayers foot the bill for the crisis created by their friends, the bankers. It must not be overlooked that Labour would also have pursued a programme of cuts should they have been re-elected in 2010. The budget defecit inherited by the Condems in 2010 can be paid through means other than inflicting misery. Banks who were bailed out by taxpayer's money must not be allowed to award themselves with obscene bonuses and bringing those who avoid paying tax to book would also return a healthy balance to the treasury's coffers.
